Keeb Kwm Tswv Teb Chaws (Life History of Fleeing One’s Country)
November 15, 2018
This document is a narrative written by and about a Hmong refugee about his family’s escape from Laos after the end of the “secret war” in 1975. Vue Vang (Nthxeb Vwg Vaaj) writes about his immediate and extended families’ 14-day journey from their village in Phuaj Hooj, Sayaboury, Laos to reach Thai border. He recounted each day of the journey, including the abandoned villages they sought shelter at night, for his children and grandchildren to know about the experience of a refugee. The narrative is written in the Hmong language. A translation is forthcoming.
